Papa Steve and Grammy Ann were able to come from Utah.

Many of our loved ones were able to make the blessing. We

have a big family, there were 12 men in the circle. Anisten was

blessed to posess patience and long suffering. I think that is specifically

for big sister Lilly who is obsessed with Anisten, and isn't always gentle.

What Can Brown Do For You???

Forget the Stork. We deliver babies via UPS!

Our poor children were boxes for Halloween. How sad!

Lilly wore her box for a total of 1.3 minutes, enough time

to pose for the camera and strip. Anisten loved her box and

slept the whole night happy as a pea.

Anisten One Month Old

Check out those eyes! I had such a fun time with Anisten's first photo shoot. Her skin is so soft and she is covered with downy-fine blond hair! You can see it on her back! She is gaining weight and growing fast and is such a good baby. My good friend Jennifer Justesen took the photo, she goes on location and will come right to your house. Pumpkin Patch

We had so much fun at the Pumpkin Patch. I carried around my own little "pumpkin" while Rylan and Lilly filled our wheelbarrow full of large and small, red, orange, and even white pumpkins. I've tried to teach Lilly to say pumpkin but she calls them "ucky apples".

Welcome Baby Anisten!

At 38 weeks pregnant I got sick for a few days with fever, chills, headache, and a weird rash on my belly. I was worried about the baby and so was my midwife. On Saturday morning at 3am I went in to be evaluated at Evergreen's Family Maternity Center. They started doing test after test. They were looking for infection in me and in the baby. I was poked 3 separate times for lab draws, had an ultrasound guided amniocentesis, and three pokes to the spine for a lumbar puncture. They started an IV and were giving me fluid. They also used a catheter to get a clean urine specimen, and did a chest X-Ray. I felt like the science project of the day. We had a Midwife, an OB, an infection doc, and a perinatologist working with me. They were all working together to find out what was wrong with me and the baby. Everything came back normal, except the amniotic fluid had a glucose level of 8, and anything above 15 is normal. The glucose level being low is a sign of stress for the baby and they decided to induce labor and get the baby out. Everything was a little crazy. They checked my cervix, 2cm dilated, and broke my water. They added pitocin to the IV fluid to start contractions. I did have an enjoyable time experiencing labor using the Jacuzzi tub twice, walking the hall, and bouncing on a labor ball. Rylan was very supportive, Mom flew in and visited us with Lilly. When I got hurting pretty bad, I got an epidural (4th and best poke into my spine :) From there, I was very tired having not slept the night before, and still sick. One hour later I started pushing, after 20 minutes baby girl #2 was born. She is beautiful. We had some special care RN's and a respiratory therapist in the room just in case. She did just fine after a little rubbing she started to breath. She got to breast feed, and have her first bath before they whisked her off to get a bunch of tests done to her and an IV placed. Ry went with her, while I rested. They sent my placenta to be tested and cultured. We found out the next day that my placenta had gram-negative rod bacteria which is bad news!! possible E-Coli. They figure I'll be OK because the placenta was no longer in my body, but baby had to transfer to pediatrics for 7 to 10 days of IV antibiotics. So Rylan and I are currently living at the hospital, Mom is watching Lilly. They come to visit every day. Baby is doing very well. We feel blessed to have a new little one, and know that things could be a lot worse. We love you all.

Summer Fun

We've been to the beach and pool a lot this summer. Lilly's favorite is digging in the sand (very serious work you know). Here are a few of Lilly, she is growing up so fast!

Idaho Trip

Rylan's brother Kevin graduated from BYU Idaho. The whole Evans clan packed up and took a road trip for the week. We traveled from Seattle to Idaho Falls crammed in two cars with all our stuff, driving the 14 hours to get there through the night. I thought we would never make it, but we did, finally. We stayed in Idaho Falls with Grandma and Grandpa Carter. These are photo's of a fabulous little zoo we went to.

While we stayed at Grandma Carter's Lilly slept in her portable playpen. Although she is tall, she hasn't figured out how to climb out of it yet. One evening Granddad Ed was in charge of the kiddies (Lilly and beloved cousin baby Diego), while the rest of us went out to see the new Harry Potter movie. Granddad had his hands full with Diego who was being a pill that night, and upon my return I found Lilly in an awful state. Instead of going blissfully to baby slumber-land like granddad thought, Lilly had reached up to the top of a nearby dresser and got a hold of my makeup. She applied lipstick to her whole face, shirt, arms, and legs. Mind you, she did all this in the dark! We found her and took these photos.

Lion King, Little Mermaid, Ice Age, Cars.... Daddy knows how to keep Lilly happy in the car.

Lilly's first time on park rides. I think she likes the regular park (which she calls the "Wee") better.

Cherry Hill Waterslide Park treated us well on a hot day in Utah we were all able to cool down. That is until the lightning storm rolled in and they kicked us out of the park. My fav was the lazy river, no work involved. Lilly liked the Pirates Cove, perfect for little ruffians.

The coolest thing we did was tour Yellowstone for two days. We saw so many different types of hot springs, and witnessed old faithful blow. At this point our camera battery died so I have no more photo's to share. I definitely want to go back with a kayak and a camera, it is beautiful.

Utah Trip

We visited Grammy and Papa in Utah. Lilly fell in love with their dog Leah and literally took over her dog house. While we were there we went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point. This big horse posed in the back of our family photo! We weren't prepared for the cold and rain. I thought Utah was supposed to be hot in May.
